Our Story
|
The day Jace was born. |
Bryce and I met when we were only 12 back in 2007. We were friends up until March 3rd, 2010 and then we became so much more. He was my best friend throughout a hard time in my life and our friendship then grew into love. By September of 2010 we had the great surprise of becoming pregnant. We were only 15 but it was the best mistake we could have made. Jace was born June 4th, 2011. He was the best baby ever. When we found out I was pregnant, Bryce and I decided that we weren't going to get married just because we had a baby. Yes we were in love and yes we raised our son together but marriage to us was something that needed to happen because we wanted a bigger commitment to each other. We got engaged in October of 2011. We had planned to wait a while before getting since we both had full schedules. I had dropped out of high school middle of my junior year and got my GED so that I could start college and get a head start on my career, medical assisting. Bryce was still in high school determined to get his diploma so he could enlist in the military afterwards. Being engaged was hard on me. I could see what I wanted(being married to the guy of my dreams) but it was still far enough out of my reach. In researching a bed and breakfast nearby we could go to for a honeymoon I found an old Victorian one that offered an elopement package. 10 people other than the bride and groom with flowers, cake, and a 2 night stay there for an affordable price?! It was perfect for what we wanted! August 31st, 2012 finally came and I became Mrs. Emily Gorsuch. I got to marry the father of my child, my best friend, my hero. Our story may have begun years ago but I believe it won't be finished anytime soon.
